Suspect Description Released In Brockton Murder Of 74-Year-Old

BROCKTON (CBS) - Two days after a 74-year-old man was beaten to death with a hammer, Plymouth County's District Attorney is releasing new details about the suspect in hopes of capturing him.

Officials say they are looking for a light-skinned English-speaking Hispanic or Cape Verdean man between 16 and 29 years old.

He's around 5'11" tall with a thin to athletic build. The suspect was clean shaven with black hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and possibly a white t-shirt underneath with long light-colored shorts and black sneakers.

They also say that suspect dropped a Red Sox hat at the scene of the murder.

Autopsy results for Lee Harmon came back on Thursday. The results indicated he was killed from blows to the head consistent with a hammer recovered at the scene at 120 Clinton Street in Brockton.

The case is under investigation.
