Sen. Wolf To Suspend Campaign For Governor

BOSTON (AP) — Democratic State Sen. Dan Wolf says he is suspending his campaign for governor and will resign his legislative seat unless the state Ethics Commission reverses a conflict of interest ruling against him.

The commission ruled this month that Wolf's ownership stake in Cape Air violates state ethics rules because the airline has contracts to fly in and out of Logan Airport in Boston. The commission said he must either divest himself of his interest in the airline or end its operating agreements with the state, or end his campaign and resign from the Senate.

Wolf said in a statement Thursday he could not "in good conscience pursue" the ethics commission's options because of the damage it would do to the airline.

The Harwich resident wants the commission to reverse its decision.
