Deteriorating Beams Force State To Close Southborough Bridge

SOUTHBOROUGH (CBS) ---- Massachusetts Department of Transportation has closed a bridge after they found the steel beams were deteriorating.

Effective immediately, the bridge that carries Bridge Street over the CSX Railroad is closed to vehicle traffic.

MassDOT found the problem during a routine bridge inspection.

There's no word on when the bridge will reopen.

The bridge will remain open for pedestrian travel.
