Andover Man, Child Injured Winnipesaukee In Jet Ski Explosion

MOULTONBOROUGH, NH (CBS) - A jet ski exploded on Sunday on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, injuring a 56-year-old man and an 8-year-old child.

Police say the watercraft blew up as Steven Mitton, 56, of Andover, Mass. tried to start it.

The force of the explosion sent Mitton his 8-year-old passenger flying from the watercraft.

Mitton suffered a broken pelvis. The child, who is also from Andover, suffered a head laceration.

Both victims were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not known.

Police are investigating the incident.
