Southie Woman Snaps Picture Of Man She Believes Attacked Her

SOUTH BOSTON (CBS) – A South Boston woman who was assaulted last week in an elevator, reportedly claims she took a cell phone photo of the man who attacked her.

The victim believes she spotted the man who grabbed her by the waist and neck on August 8th days later at an MBTA bus stop.

According to Universal Hub, the woman sent the photo to neighbors. It closely resembles a sketch released by police shortly after the attack at 15 Channel Center Street.

"It's horrifying!" said Maria Karalexis, a South Boston woman who uses the same Broadway Street MBTA stop where the lookalike was spotted.

"I can't believe she saw him here but I suppose you don't forget a face when you're being attacked."

The suspect was described as white, in his 20's, 5'6, extremely red face, clean shaven, short light brown hair, wearing a white shirt and gray or olive green cargo shorts.

There have been no arrests.

Boston police told WBZ-TV Friday that they are aware of the cell phone picture circulating online.

They declined to say whether or not they believe the man in the picture is a viable suspect.

Anyone with information should call police at 1(800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
