Rockland 18-Year-Old Accused Of 100 Vehicle Break-Ins

ROCKLAND (CBS) -- A local 18-year-old is responsible for more than 100 vehicle burglaries in town, police said.

On Friday, Rockland Police received information from the Hanover Police Department that they had a man in custody for a series of car breaks in their town. The suspect, 18-year-old David Folkins, lives at 49 Custer St. Apt. 2, Rockland.

Based on information gained in the Hanover investigation, Rockland officers searched Folkins' Custer Street home. During the search, several items that were reported stolen from vehicles in Rockland were seized, Rockland Police reported Saturday in a prepared statement.

Jewelry, electronics, drivers licenses and cash were among the stolen items, police said, adding there is probable cause to believe Folkins is responsible for about 104 vehicle burglaries in Rockland.

Folkins is being held at the Plymouth House of Correction.
