Three Separate Rescues In An Hr. For Coast Guard Crews In Mass.

BOSTON (AP) — Coast Guard crews say they've responded to three cases of people in the water in Massachusetts in just over an hour.

A woman overturned her 10-foot sailboat in Little Harbor in Woods Hole around 5:30 p.m. Friday. A Coast Guard team rescued her.

At around 6:20 p.m., a man fell off a fishing vessel 2 miles southeast of Wood End near Provincetown. A Coast Guard crew rescued him and took him back to his boat.

About 25 minutes later, the Coast Guard got word of a person in the water near Chilmark. A Coast Guard crew and police marine units responded. Police rescued two distressed snorkelers and took them to Menemsha Harbor.

Coast Guard Lt. Bryan Swintek says these cases are "great examples of the Coast Guard's ability to respond quickly and work with" other agencies in rescues.
