Police from Bristol County, Massachusetts, along with members of the Connecticut State Police Dive Team, were seen searching Malones Pond in Pine Lake Park in Bristol.

The search concluded around 5 p.m. Monday. Police say they will be back at the pond, continuing their search on Tuesday.

CBS affiliate WFSB-TV is reporting Bristol Police have confirmed that Connecticut State Police are searching for a weapon possibly connected to the Hernandez case.

Reporter Mike Guerrera of WTIC NewsTalk 1080 tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030, the focus is on a murky section of the approximately 200-yard pond, not far from where Hernandez grew up. (Continued...)

'It's a big enough pond that could give these guys a long day of work," Guerrera told WBZ. "Because it's a Massachusetts case where Connecticut police are just aiding at this point, they aren't releasing any information until they get something more concrete."

Bristol native and former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez is currently being held without bail on first-degree murder charges related to the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated the execution-style shooting of Lloyd in a field near Hernandez's home in North Attleboro June 17, because Lloyd talked to the wrong people at a nightclub.

Hernandez still has family living in Bristol. Two other men charged in connection with the murder, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace have ties to Bristol.
