Gresh & Zo: Why Wasn’t Ellsbury Playing?

Jacoby Ellsbury was not in the lineup last night in a key meeting between the Sox and Rays, as the two teams battle for first place.

Gresh and Zo found his sitting on the bench to be unacceptable — there are plenty of opportunities to rest the center fielder against teams like the Astros or the Diamondbacks. Having the center fielder out of the lineup during an important AL East matchup is inexcusable.

Is the decision entirely on the shoulders of Manager John Farrell, or does Ellsbury have a say on when he plays and does not play? The guys break it all down.
