RI Wrong-Way Crash Kills 3

LINCOLN, R.I. (CBS) -- Three people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 146.

It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Police say 39-year-old Aldo Almanzar of North Smithfield, RI, was killed when he crashed his 2012 Toyota Camry head-on into a 1999 Honda Accord.

Police say Almanzar was not wearing a seat belt.

Two passengers in the Honda, 22-year-old Alexis Correa and 22-year-old Isabel Vasquez were killed.

Police say Vasquez was also not wearing a seat belt.

The driver, 30-year-old Andrew Hilow, is in serious but stable condition at a Rhode Island hospital.

All three of the people who were in the Honda are from Worcester.

State Police tell CBS affiliate WPRI, they did not receive any calls about the wrong-way driver before the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
