Golf Cart Joyride Around Campus Lands Two SNHU Students In Legal Trouble

HOOKSETT, NH (CBS) - A couple of students at Southern New Hampshire University are in some legal trouble after allegedly stealing a golf cart and taking it on a joyride around the campus in Hooksett, NH.

Police say Saturday morning around 1:45 a.m. public safety officers spotted Kyle Kenney 20, and Keal Miyata, 21, both Massachusetts residents, on the golf cart and tried to stop them.

The two allegedly crashed the cart into a tree.

School public safety officers managed to detain the two young men until police arrived.

Kenney faces charges for Unauthorized Use of a Propelled Vehicle and Internal Possession.

Keal was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass and Unauthorized use of a Propelled Vehicle.

Both men have August 28th court dates in Hooksett.

A police news release did not indicate whether alcohol may have been involved.
