Wednesday’s Child: 9-Year-Old Kailee
BOSTON (CBS) – Kailee is a friendly, vibrant 9-year-old girl of Asian heritage who describes herself as kind and loving. Adults in her life agree that she is giving young lady. She has a great laugh and sees the humor in many things. Kailee enjoys spending time with others and would be a great addition to an adoptive family that could meet her needs.
Kailee likes gymnastics and swimming and loves to be outside. She also enjoys being read to and doing puzzles. Currently, she is working on 500-piece puzzles. She also loves music and will sing to most types of music. Kailee wants to be a mom or a teacher when she grows up.
Kailee does well in her current foster home, and benefits from the structure and concrete parenting she gets from her foster mother. She also does well with her teenage foster siblings. Academically, Kailee has some intellectual delays, and is in a day school program where she struggles with following rules and peer relations.
Legally free for adoption, Kailee would do best in a two-parent family of any constellation. Ideally, her future family will have experience with children but Kailee could still be the youngest child in a home. She would do well in a family with pets.
To learn more about Kailee, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit http://www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have “a permanent place to call HOME.”
