Boston Symphony Orchestra Opens Tanglewood Season

LENOX (CBS) -- The Boston Symphony Orchestra is opening the 2013 season at Tanglewood on Friday night with an all-Tchaikovsky opening night concert in the Koussevitzky Music Shed beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The opening night concert features violinist Joshua Bell, who is returning to Tanglewood for the 25th consecutive summer. One of the orchestra's most popular guest conductors, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos will lead the BSO's opening night program.

Featured events this summer include jazz artist Harry Connick Jr., the Boston Pops performing with country music star Vince Gill, and the orchestra and chorus of Boston-based Emmanuel Music performing composer John Harbinson's opera "The Great Gatsby."
