BOSTON (CBS) – Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks had a record night in Pawtucket on Wednesday night, matching a PawSox franchise record with eight RBIs.
Middlebrooks, in his seventh game in Triple-A since being optioned last month, went 4-for-5 in Pawtucket’s 11-5 win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre — the New York Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate.
After lining out in his first at-bat, Middlebrooks had a pair of home runs — a three-run blast and a grand slam — to go with an RBI double and a single.
