BOSTON (CBS) — Boston’s big Fourth of July Celebration promises to be a great show and security is tighter than ever.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Mark Katic reports

On Wednesday morning, State Police divers were sweeping the docks along the Esplanade.

As performers did their sound checks on stage, police did their own checks around the park.

Investigators say there are no known threats to the celebration but spectators can expect to see more patrols on the ground and in the air this year.

There will also be a heavy undercover police presence.

The State Police Airwing will be watching from above with an infrared camera on the crowds.

On the ground, revelers will be subject to extra security precautions.

Expect all bags to be searched when entering the park and additional restrictions on what you can bring in.

But organizers believe ultimately the extra security won’t keep people away as the weather forecast looks clear for the show.
