Clothing Linked To Aaron Hernandez Case, Ammo Found In Franklin Condo

BOSTON (CBS/AP) — A white hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap, similar to items that Aaron Hernandez was allegedly wearing the night Odin Lloyd was shot, have been recovered by police, according to court documents obtained by WBZ-TV.

Hernandez is being held without bail after pleading not guilty in the murder of Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester.  His body was found June 17 less than a mile from Hernandez's home in North Attleboro.

Last month, investigators searched a condominium Hernandez rented on Old West Street in Franklin.

According to the search warrant, they found the same caliber ammunition used in the Lloyd shooting, a white hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap.

In the search warrant, police wrote the hat and sweatshirt are "consistent" with the items Hernandez was seen wearing in surveillance video the night of Lloyd's murder.

Officers also found other types of ammunition in the condo and a Hummer SUV in the parking lot.

The weapon used in Lloyd's murder has not been found.

Hernandez signed a lease for the $1,200-a-month, 2-bedroom apartment in Franklin earlier this year. The lease started May 1 and is due to expire April 30, 2014.

In the court documents, police said they were led to the Franklin residence by Carlos Ortiz during an interview June 25.

Ortiz told investigators that "not many people" knew about Hernandez's home in Franklin. It was referred to as a "flop house" in the affidavit.

Prosecutors say Ortiz and another man, Ernest Wallace, were in the car with Hernandez when the three men picked up Lloyd on June 17, drove him to an industrial park and shot him five times. They have not said who fired the shots.

Ortiz is being held on a charge of carrying an unlicensed firearm in North Attleboro on the day Lloyd was shot. His attorney described Ortiz as a "gentle person" and said he had advised him to plead not guilty.

The three men are all linked to Bristol, Conn., where Hernandez grew up. Ortiz had been living in Bristol, and authorities had addresses for Wallace there and in Miramar, Florida

Wallace, 41, faces a charge of accessory after the fact in Lloyd's murder. He turned himself in to police last week.

Last summer, Hernandez, 23, signed a five-year contract worth $40 million with the New England Patriots. The team released him the day of his arrest, and he could face life in prison if convicted.
