Man Who Says Aaron Hernandez Shot Him In The Eye Appears In Court

HARTFORD (CBS) - A man who says he was shot by Aaron Hernandez appeared in court on Tuesday. Alexander Bradley is suing the former Patriots tight end over the fight he says got out of hand.

Bradley says Hernandez shot him in the eye in Florida back in February.

Outside of court, Bradley would not talk about his lawsuit, but inside Hartford Superior Court, the injury to his right eye was apparent. His attorney called him a victim.

"He's had several surgeries," said Bradley's attorney. "He's a victim of a gunshot."

Bradley was in court on unrelated charges that he banged down his ex-girlfriend's door and punched her in the face.

Meantime, it is the reconstruction of his own face he's looking for Hernandez to pay for in his lawsuit. It says Hernandez left him bleeding in a Florida industrial park last February. It was filed four days before Odin Lloyd's body turned up in another industrial park in North Attleboro. Hernandez is being held without bail in connection with Lloyd's murder.

"I have no knowledge of that," Bradley said of the charges against Hernandez. "Whatever situations he's got, he's got on his own."

In 2006, Bradley spent a year and a half in prison on a drug conviction. On Tuesday, the judge ordered Bradley to stay away from the ex-girlfriend he is accused of hitting. His civil case against Aaron Hernandez continues.
