MSPCA To Hold Cat Adopt-A-Thon

BOSTON (CBS) -- The MSPCA-Angell will be working to find homes for some very deserving pets through their "Declare Your Love" fee-waived senior cat adoptathon.

The adoptathon runs from July 1-14 and during this period the standard $95 dollar adoption fee for cats 9 and over, will be waived.

"Kittens are irresistible and generally spend less time in our adoption centers before they are taken home-but senior cats, many of whom are surrendered because their older care takers have died or are too ill to care for them, can spend much more time in a setting that is unlike anything they've ever known," said Jean Weber, Director of Animal Protection for the MSPCA-Angell.

All three of the MSPCA's adoption centers-Jamaica Plain, Methuen and Centerville-will participate in the adoptathon.

The MSPCA has created an online destination  with details on adoptable cats, hours and directions and other information about adoption.
