Deep Fryer Next To Gas Pump Causes Scare In Concord, NH

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Police say a small deep fryer placed near a fuel pump caused a scare at a gas station in Concord, N.H.

Police responded to the report of a suspicious item on Friday night at the Mobil Gas Station. Officers say a silver and black object looked like a small pressure cooker placed next to a fuel pump.

Members of the Concord Fire Department, the FBI and the New Hampshire State Police Field Operations Bureau Explosives Disposal Unit were called in to help.

Homes and business nearby were evacuated and Loudon Road was temporarily shut down.

Police say the item was rendered safe and determined to be a small deep fryer.

Police are still investigating why it was placed there.
