BOSTON (CBS) — With regard to the murder charge against Aaron Hernandez, it’s safe to assume that no current Patriots players will be commenting publicly about their former teammate.
However, former locker room leader Matt Light is retired and therefore didn’t hold back his feelings when speaking with the Dayton Daily News’ Tom Archdeacon this week.
Archdeacon asked Light for his thoughts on Hernandez, Light’s “easy smile quickly vanished and he went silent for several seconds as he decided what, if anything, he would say.
Then, Light said, “I never talk about other guys, but I will say I have never embraced — never believed in — anything Aaron Hernandez stood for.”
Archdeacon’s relationship with Light goes back “a long time,” and the writer said it was the first time he had ever heard Light speak unkindly about anyone.
