Bobcat That Attacked Holden Man Was Rabid

HOLDEN (CBS) - A bobcat that attacked a Holden man on Monday has been confirmed to have been rabid.

Michael Votruba was attacked by the bobcat in his driveway after hearing what he thought was his neighbor's cat lurking around.

Votruba, who had a handgun on him, suffered several scratch wounds before he managed to shoot and kill the animal.

Holden's Animal Control and Health department took the animal to be tested for rabies.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed Friday morning that the bobcat had.

Votruba had already started receiving medical treatment for rabies.
