Dodgeball, Similar Games Back In Windham, NH Schools

WINDHAM, N.H. (AP) — Dodgeball is back in physical education classes in a New Hampshire school district.

The Windham School Board on Tuesday night accepted a study committee's recommendation to let students play dodgeball and other "human target" games next year. That was a change from a vote in March to eliminate the games over concerns about student safety and bullying.

The board said some games will be renamed to sound less violent. For example, "Slaughter" would become "Numero Uno" and "Prison Ball" would be changed to "Repair Shop."

Students who are intimidated by the games will be able to opt out for other activities.
