Crews Working To Fix Water Main Break In Fitchburg

FITCHBURG (CBS) – A massive water main break affected service to more than 60 percent of Fitchburg Monday afternoon. The pipe burst on Federal Street.

The Fitchburg Fire Department says more than one million gallons of water was lost. Most of the water flowed into a nearby river.

Crews will continue making repairs Monday night.

The city says water may be discolored, but it is safe to drink.
