Hingham Police: Masked Man Drove At Officer In Stolen Truck

HINGHAM (CBS) -- Police are looking for a man they say, drove at an officer at a high-rate of speed before rolling his truck over and taking off on foot.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Bruno Brauer, 30, of Malden, on 17 charges, including felony assault.

Police are now asking for the public's help in tracking him down.

Earlier this month, a Hingham officer responded to a report of a truck driving without lights through Best Chevrolet on Derby Street.

The driver was wearing a ski mask and quickly drove away when police arrived.

When an officer tried to stop the masked driver, he drove through the lot into a partially blocked alley and stopped before backing into a parked vehicle, moving forward, then pushing a vehicle into a third parked car.

Police say when the officer got out of his car and drew his gun, the driver sped toward him and through the closed front gate.

On Route 3, the truck hit another car and rolled over, landing upright.

The driver then got out of the car, ran into the woods and got away, according to police.

Police later found several tires had been stolen from vehicles in the dealership and burglary tools were discovered.

Police believe Brauer was staying at a motel in Saugus as the time of the incident. He is originally from Brazil.

If you know where Brauer is, call 781-749-1212 or your local police department.
