The driver of the car, a man in his 20’s, was not injured. But, his dog, a female black pit bull named LuLu, ran away.

West Bridgewater Animal Control Officer George Mather told WBZ-TV the dog was last seen in Easton.

At one point, Stonehill College had the dog contained on a field but by the time animal control arrived, the dog was gone.

State police shut down Route 24 north between Route 104 and Route 106 until the car fire was put out.

The accident caused major traffic delays during the morning rush hour.
