Clay Buchholz Leaves Second Game Of Double-Header With Injury

BOSTON (AP) — Red Sox starting pitcher Clay Buchholz walked off the mound in the seventh inning with an apparent injury to his glove hand.

Buchholz had attempted to field a hard grounder from the Angel's Howie Kendrick to the box an inning earlier, had the ball bounce behind him and when he left after the sixth he was seen on TV looking at his left hand with the trainer.

With two outs in the seventh, manager John Farrell and a team trainer came to the mound. After a brief discussion, he walked off and was replaced by Craig Breslow.

At time Buchholz left the game, the Red Sox led the Angels 7-2.
