Summer travel season is upon us. And we would all love to zip through airport security.
It turns out some people may have figured out a way to do just that. Airports report the number of people using wheelchairs is up….way up in some cases.
WBZ’s Michelle Roberts found some people believe able-bodied passengers are playing the system to beat the long lines at security. Airlines are required by law to help any passengers that ask for assistance.
Some international airports use a system where passengers have a special pass which identifies them as disabled. Should airports in the US do the same? What can they do to cut down on people abusing the system?
