Man Shot After Police Chase In Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) - An investigation is underway in New Hampshire after a shooting in downtown Manchester.

Firefighters tell WBZ it began with a medical call about a heart attack. When paramedics arrived, the man became combative and drove off.

Witnesses say that led to a police chase and ended in gunfire on Merrimack Street near Pine Street.

They say they heard several rounds fired by police, who could then be seen tending to the man. It happened around 6 pm Monday night and the area remained closed for hours.

"No police officers were injured in this incident," Attorney General Joseph Foster said in a statement. "An adult male sustained two gunshot wounds and was transported to the Eliot Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries."
