Abandoned Pressure Cooker Leads To Bomb Scare At Saugus Mall

SAUGUS (CBS) - A pressure cooker created a brief scare at the Square One Mall late Monday morning.

Police and the State Police Bomb Squad were called in after someone reported seeing a suspicious package around 11:15 a.m. in the parking garage.

According to State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan's office, it was an empty pressure cooker with the lid on.

No one was hurt.

Investigators are now trying to find out who left it there.

Two businesses near the scene, Best Buy and Work Out World, were the only stores asked to close and move customers out as a precaution.

Three people were killed and more than 200 injured when two pressure cooker bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon finish line April 15.
