NEEDHAM (CBS) – A Needham woman who ran into countless hurdles trying to get her fundraiser off the ground finally made it happen on Saturday.
Annette Orlando set out to raise money for the One Fund through a bake sale, but the town told her she couldn’t sell homemade baked goods because of the ordinance banning the sale of any goods with trans fats.
The next line of red tape Orlando had to cut through was getting a Tax ID number from the IRS. Once she managed to get one, the town told her they don’t issue one-day permits.
But Orlando wasn’t about to give up. After putting some pressure on the town and going on the Dan Rea show, they gave in.
“I had a big challenge to get here. But I won and I’m doing it and I’m happy and it’s going to a great cause,” she said. “I’m having my bake sale and I’m raising lots of money for the poor families and victims who need it.”

It wasn’t immediately clear how much Orlando raised from the Saturday bake sale. Whatever that number is, she says she’s donating the entire proceeds to the One Fund.
