Red Sox Call Up Jackie Bradley Jr.

BOSTON (CBS) -- Jackie Bradley Jr. is back.

After the month of March was spent debating whether the kid was worthy of starting the season in the big leagues, he did indeed make his major league debut, only to get sent down in mid-April to make room for David Ortiz.

Now, at the end of May, the 23-year-old is getting another shot at the big leagues.

The Red Sox announced Wednesday afternoon that Bradley has been recalled, with right-hander Alex Wilson optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Bradley hit .354 with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, nine RBIs and 13 walks in 20 games with Pawtucket this season, and he was riding a 12-game hitting streak before Wednesday's call-up.

In his 12 MLB games this season, Bradley batted just .097, though he did draw six walks and score five runs.
