Menino: Would 'Never Consider' Stepping Down Amid Health Problems

BOSTON (CBS) -- Mayor Tom Menino will undergo surgery Friday for an enlarged prostate.

It's just the latest in a series of health issues for the mayor.

Menino's spokesperson says the mayor does not have cancer and should be out of the hospital a few days after surgery.

Health issues contributed to Menino's decision not to run for a sixth term.

When asked if he would consider stepping down, Menino gave an emphatic "no."

"I'd never consider that at all," Menino said.
