Mom Dead, 2 Kids Hurt In Crash On Ramp Linking Mass Pike, I-95 In Weston

WESTON (CBS) – A woman was killed and her two children were hurt Saturday in a crash on a ramp from the Massachusetts Turnpike to Interstate 95, police said.

Three cars crashed around 12:50 p.m. on the ramp from the Pike eastbound to I-95 north in Weston. The circumstances leading up to the collision are still not clear, but one person ended up trapped in a vehicle, police said.

Ana Espinal, 43, of Roslindale, died and her two children suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The injured children were taken via ambulance to Beth Israel Hospital.

No other motorists were injured in the crash.

The ramps from the Pike eastbound to Route 95 north and south as well as from 95 north to the Pike were closed briefly during the emergency response to the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
