WILBRAHAM (CBS) — A 7-year-old girl died Saturday evening in an apparent accidental drowning, police said.
Authorities responded to an emergency call at a Shirley Street home around 5:30 p.m.
Sgt. Bob Zollo of the Wilbraham Police Department told CBS that the girl did not live at the house, but she was a guest.
Wilbraham police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death among children aged 1 to 14, according the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
