Water Main Break Floods North End Streets
BOSTON (CBS) – Crews are on the scene in the North End trying to stop the water flowing at Endicott and Stillman Streets after a water main break.
It was like a river running through the North End neighborhood when a resident said he heard what sounded like a pop and water started pouring from an area where the cement buckled.
The Boston Water and Sewer Commission has not called for any evacuations, but once the source of the problem is found and repairs begin, water will have to be shut off in the neighborhood for several hours.
"I've already got several friends on notice that I may have to come over and shower and do my normal routine," said resident Bryan Tatro.
The cause of the break is under investigation.
