Oxford Police Locate Car Involved In Hit-And-Run With Pregnant Woman

OXFORD (CBS) - Police in Oxford say they have found the car in a hit-and-run that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital.

Police say early Sunday morning, the pregnant woman was hit dropping off a friend. They believe the other driver was drunk.

"I think she was completely drunk," said Stephanie Dunn, the friend who was being dropped off.  "I could like smell it on her, so I think she panicked maybe."

An anonymous tip, called in late last Tuesday night, led police to the car hidden in a vacant lot. The gray Hyundai Accent had damage consistent with the accident.

Police say they have spoken with the owner of the car and the driver could face criminal charges.

The pregnant woman was treated at the hospital, but not seriously hurt.
