WBZ WaterCooler: Heroes From The Boston Marathon Finish Line

BOSTON (CBS) - At The WBZ Water Cooler: Heroes continue to emerge after the twin bombings at the Boston Marathon finish line.

Danvers' DPW employee Dan Marshall was yards from where the 2nd explosion took place Marathon Monday.

He rushed to help Martin Richard.

"He was the first one I saw," Marshall said. "I put my belt around his arm, I just tried to help him out."

Marshall says he wishes he could have done more.

"Just a real cowardly thing to do," he said of the bombings.

When asked, Marshall also explained what sent him running to help others, when instincts say run away from the blasts.

"I was just so in the zone, I didn't see people running around, I just saw myself helping," he said.

Marshall has ran Marathon's before. In fact, an injury was the only thing holding him back from running Boston this year.

He says if he can hook up with a charity, count him in for next year.
