Methuen High School Student Held Without Bail Over Rap Song That Made Alleged Terror Threats

METHUEN (CBS) - A Methuen High School student is being held without bail, charged with making bomb threats in an online rap video.

Police say 18-year-old Cameron Dambrosio used his XBox 360 to post the video suggesting he wanted to kill people and outdo the Boston Marathon bombings.

"...Ya-ll want me to (expletive) kill somebody? So when you see me (expletive) go insane, and make the news...and the (expletive) federal house of horror known as the White House, Don't (expletive) cry ! (expletive) a Boston bomb, wait til you see the (expletive) I do !" Dambrosio allegedly wrote.

Methuen police say they are not abridging freedom of speech, but have to investigate statements like those, posted online for the world to see.

"In this heightened time of awareness, it is our duty to protect the public," said Lt. Mike Pappalardo.

Dambrosio appeared in Lawrence District Court on Thursday wearing sneakers and a t-shirt featuring the face of rapper "Old Dirty Bastard."

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with a felony. Police seized Dambrosio's XBox 360 and a computer tower.

Dambrosio could face up to 20 years in prison.
