BOSTON (CBS) – With the NHL Playoffs just a few hours away for the Boston Bruins, head coach Claude Julien insists his Game 1 lineup against the Toronto Maple Leafs still isn’t set.
But once again, Kaspars Daugavins lined up next to Chris Kelly and Jaromir Jagr on the B’s third line at Wednesday’s morning skate, and Rich Peverley watched in a green jersey. Rookie Dougie Hamilton was also absent from the B’s third defensive pairing, with veteran Wade Redden lining up next to Adam McQuaid.
Julien admitted that Hamilton will probably be a healthy scratch on Wednesday, but wouldn’t go as far as saying Peverly would join him.
Bruins Ready For Playoffs, Leafs:
While Peverley may not be in the initial plans for Julien, there remains the possibility he is re-inserted into the lineup should Daigavins — who joined the Bruins earlier in the month — struggle in the playoffs. He has just one playoff game to his name, while Peverly led the Bruins with a trio of goals in their brief playoff stint last season.
As for who is playing, forward Nathan Horton was back out with his first-line mates David Krejci and Milan Lucic. Horton missed the final five games of the regular season with an upper body injury, and Julien termed him a game-time decision, but after appearing on the ice the last two days chances are Horton will lace them up for Game 1.
