Ed Donohue On Toucher & Rich: Officer Donohue 'Moving Along' In Physical Therapy

BOSTON (CBS)  - On Friday, Rich Shertenlieb of 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich paid a visit to MBTA Police Officer Richard Donohue, who is recovering from the injuries he suffered in a shootout with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

Rich, along with Adolfo, got to spend some time with Officer Donohue and delivered an iPad to help him pass his time in the hospital.

Officer Donohue's brother, Ed, called into the show on Friday, and called again Monday morning to give an update on his brother, who has already begun physical therapy from his hospital room.

"The first step was taking him out of bed and have him sit in a chair. The last few days he's actually taken steps with a walker," said Ed. "He took 10 steps at a time yesterday, which is incredible. Last week, that was something I didn't think would happen for a month or two down the road. But he's moving along now, so that's great."

Ed also recounted how he found out his brother was shot in the Watertown shootout.

The MBTA has set up a site for people to make donations to Officer Donohue and his family: officerricharddonohue.com.
