WAREHAM (AP) — A pedestrian in Wareham was hit by a car Friday night and killed, police said.
At about 8 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of an accident on Cranberry Highway and found the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The man was not identified pending notification of his family.
The 19-year-old driver of the car who hit the man was at the crash scene. Police said the driver, Charles Rohrbach IV of Wareham, was not injured. Rohrbach has not been charged but the incident remains under investigation, Wareham Police said Saturday in a prepared statement.
A police spokesman did not immediately return a call Saturday evening seeking further details.
