BOSTON (CBS) – The bombings at the Boston Marathon postponed race director Dave McGillivray’s annual run of the course.
On Friday, he crossed the finish line on Boylston Street to the applause of police and others who were gathered there.
Because he is busy working the race, he has a unique tradition on Marathon Monday. Once the elite runners are in and the rest of the field is well on their way, he heads out to Hopkinton and runs the course.
It was Dave’s 41st time running the marathon.
