State Police Release Video Of Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Standoff

WATERTOWN (CBS) — The Massachusetts State Police has released a video that shows Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev hiding in a boat before his arrest Friday night.

The video, which was captured from a police helicopter, shows the tarp-covered boat in on Franklin Street in Watertown where Tsarnaev took refuge after a shootout with police early Friday morning.

The bombing suspect’s hiding place was discovered when the owner of the boat noticed a strap covering the vessel had been cut and also saw blood stains on the boat. The Franklin Street resident looked under the tarp, saw Tsarnaev’s bloody body, then immediately called police.
