Felger & Mazz: April 18, 2013
Felger and Massarotti opened the day discussing last nights Boston Bruins game. The Bruins lost 3-2 in a shoot out to the Buffalo Sabres, but that wasn’t the story. Last night was the first major sporting event in the city of Boston since the horrific events that took place on Marathon Monday. Rene Rancourt came out on the ice to sing the National Anthem, as he usually does, but took a back seat to let the 17,565 fans in the TD Garden sing The Star-Spangled Banner. Felger and Mazz also keep you updated on any developments in the Boston Marathon Bombings. The guys have a little fun with all of the misreporting from yesterday.
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz discussing the Boston Red Sox, last nights 6-3 win over the Cleveland Indians, their 5-game winning streak, and the return of David Ortiz from the disabled list. Is the Red Sox bullpen being over-worked? When Ortiz returns, who will be sent down? Mike Milbury joined Felger and Massarotti to talk some Boston Bruins and last nights pre-game ceremonies.
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discussed the New England Patriots and next week’s NFL Draft. The Patriots are picking in the 29th spot. How should the Pats approach the draft? What areas should they focus on? Will missing out on Emmanuel Sanders hurt the Pats? Felger and Mazz went on to talk about the Boston Celtics and the start of the NBA Playoffs. As a seven seed, the Celtics will play the New York Knicks starting Saturday afternoon. How do the C’s matchup with the Knicks? Boston Red Sox closer Joel Hanrahan has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. Will he still have his job as closer when he returns?
In the fourth and final hour of Felger and Massarotti, the guys continue to keep everyone updated on the latest developments in the Boston Marathon Bombings. Felger and Mazz went live to FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers, who released video and photo evidence of possible suspects. In The Final Word with Marc Bertrand, we replay the chill-inducing National Anthem from last night’s Bruins game.
