LEXINGTON (CBS) – A Patriots’ Day tradition continued with the reenactment of the battles of Lexington and Concord.

Crowds gathered Monday morning as the start of the Revolutionary War was brought to life on Lexington Green.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports

For almost 40 years the town has been recreating the battle of Lexington where the first shots rang out in a skirmish between colonists and British troops in the spring of 1775.

Kerry Evans was there with her husband and son.

“Our son was studying American history and we thought we’d come and see,” Evans said.
