Celtics Recall Center Fab Melo

BOSTON (CBS) - With just two games remaining in the regular season, center Fab Melo might get a chance to show off his stuff with the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics recalled the rookie center from their NBA Developmental League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, on Monday. Melo appeared in 33 games for the Red Claws during the regular season, averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and an D-League leading 3.1 blocks per game. He also appeared in two games for the Red Claws during the D-League playoffs against Rio Grande Valley, averaging 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per game.

Melo, selected 22nd overall in June's NBA draft out of Syracuse, has 19 minutes of NBA action under his belt, scoring five points and pulling down one rebound in his limited time on the floor.

The Celtics have just two games remaining in the regular season; at home against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and on the road in Toronto against the Raptors on Thursday night.
