Firefighters Battle Another Blaze On Norfolk Ave In Roxbury

ROXBURY - Boston firefighters expected to spend much of Saturday battling a large fire inside a couple of abandoned buildings on Norfolk Avenue in Roxbury.

Fire officials say the three-alarm fire broke out just after 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The two large vacant multi-story brick buildings were in the process of being demolished.

The dangerous condition of the buildings forced firefighters to battle the blaze from outside, making it difficult to knock down the source of the flames.

Because of those conditions, the fire fight was expected to last throughout the day.

There have not been any reports of injuries.

The buildings are in the same complex that was partially destroyed in a massive fire in August 2010, and where just a little over a year ago another fire caused damage .
