State Police Cruiser’s Window Blown Out While Parked On I-495 In Chelmsford

CHELMSFORD (CBS) – Mass. State Police are trying to determine what type of object smashed out a rear window of a parked police cruiser Friday afternoon.

Officials say the cruiser was parked somewhere Route 495 Southbound in Chelmsford around 3 p.m. when the window was blown out.

Ballistics tests suggest that it is unlikely that any firearm was involved.

Officers are trying to determine whether the object may have been flying road debris or something more sinister like a thrown rock.

The Trooper was not injured.

Officials are asking other drivers in the area to report any damage.
