Community Organizer Bill Walczak Declares Run For Mayor

BOSTON (CBS) – As expected, the race to replace Boston Mayor Tom Menino is getting even more crowded.

Sunday, community organizer Bill Walczak is the seventh person to announce he’s running.

Walczak made the announcement on his website.

Walczak co-founded the Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester in 1975 and is the president of the Codman Academy Charter School.

No matter how big the field gets, it will be a sprint to the finish.

Boston’s preliminary election is scheduled for September 24.The top two candidates to receive the most votes will move on to face-off in the municipal election on November 5.
