Felger & Mazz: April 3, 2013

Felger and Massarotti opened the day talking about the Boston Bruins, last nights 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators, and today’s 3pm NHL Trade Deadline. If the playoffs started tonight, who is the Bruins starting goaltender?

In Hour 2, the NHL Trade Deadline has hit and the Bruins haven’t made anymore major moves today. Should the Bruins have done more to improve their defense? Should defense have been the priority over Jaromir Jagr? After the deadline past, the Bruins announced that they acquired defenseman Wade Redden from the St. Louis Blues for a draft pick. What kind of player is Redden? Did the Bruins do enough before the Deadline?

During the 3rd Hour of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discussed the Boston Red Sox, tonight’s game against the New York Yankees, and Jacoby Ellsbury’s future in Boston. How much would it take to keep Ellsbury playing centerfield for the Sox? If Ellsbury walks, what could the Sox spend that money on? How important is this season for Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz?

In the fourth and final hour, the guys continued the discuss the NHL Trade Deadline and what the Bruins did and should have done. The guys took calls on all subjects including the Boston Red Sox and tonight’s game against the New York Yankees. Should the Sox continue to play Jose Iglesia or give Pedro Ciriaco some playing time? Finally, Marc Bertrand closes out the show with The Final Word.
